The Dallas Rowing Club was founded in 1983. The purpose of this club is to promote the sport of rowing to the people of Dallas and surrounding communities, with special attention to youth, through the promotion of amateur oarsmanship by establishing and maintaining programs to achieve the desired results, without regard to age, sex, sexual preference, race, color, creed or national origin.

Bachman Lake is the home of the DRC. It is a freshwater lake located in northwest Dallas. It covers 205 acres and lies on the northwest boundary of Dallas Love Field Airport. It was originally constructed in 1903 and today is a recreational area surrounded by parks.

The John Mullen Boathouse is an award winning, three bay facility designed in the traditional style of the boathouses along the Charles and Schuylkill rivers. It received a Design Citation from the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has welcomed rowers from around the world to Dallas.
