The traffic pattern map is posted at the boathouse desk, rear staircase, upstairs bulletin board, and the main door. Additionally, coaches must adhere to board-approved safety guidelines.

Club boat usage

Club boats are available at the boathouse for all members by reservation through Boathouse Connect. Pre-approved guests will also use club boats. Private boats are not available for use by members or guests, unless a private boat owner has specifically given permission for usage.

To begin using Boathouse Connect:

1. Navigate to boathouseconnect.com.

2. Click Register.

3. Create a password.

4. Log in.

5. Fill in appropriate information about yourself to create your profile.

6. Send an email to dallasrowingclub@gmail.com to let us know you have registered. We’ll then authorize you to check out boats.

To reserve a boat:

1. From boathouseconnect.com, select Log In.

2. From the lefthand menu, select Equipment > Reservations.

3. Click the blue New Reservation button, fill in the date and start/end times.

4. Select Boats. Scroll to the boat you want to row, check it, then scroll to the bottom, and select Next. (Ignore the warning about missing/mismatched oars.)

5. Select Confirm Selections > Exit.

Note: Reservations allow you to reserve a boat up to 90 minutes before your row, and each reservation is limited to no more than two hours.

To report a maintenance issue:

1. Click Equipment > Reported Issues.

2. Click the red Report Equipment Issue button.

3. Choose the affected boat, then describe the issue.

4. Add the issue.

Advancing to higher level boats

First, review the requirements for DRC leveling up:

Unsupervised Level 3 to Level 4

Rowing skills including backing, docking, river turns, pause drill for 10 strokes, rowing on the square for 10 strokes, 15 laps (for a total of 25), and completing a flip test in a Level 4 boat.

Level 4 to Level 5

Rowing with open hands for 10 strokes, 15 laps (for a total of 40), and a timed 2K lap not more than 11 minutes for men or 14 minutes for women.

Then, email drclearntorow@gmail.com a request to be evaluated. A coach will contact you to set up a time for an assessment.
