On Saturday, February 25th, several members of the DRC, including myself, attended the "Coaches Talk with Jim Dietz" at the White Rock Boat Club. It was a very rewarding experience and I learned several new workouts. In this connection, I invited Jim and his son, James, to our boathouse on Sunday, February 26th., and both he and his son agreed.
Jim is a 6 time Olympian, as a rower and a coach, and has for years been the Head Women's Rowing Coach at UMass. He is also the USRowing Vice President.

Jim's son, James, was training for a few weeks at the White Rock Boat Club and is currently in Chula Vista, California, training for the NSR (National Selection Regatta) scheduled this month. If James is selected he will represent the US at the London Olympic Games later this year.
I have known Jim for the past 50 years. He rowed for the NYAC and in 1976 my family and I went to the Montreal Olympics to see Jim compete.
