CLUB COMPETITION
March 27, 2004
8:00 a.m. - 12:000 noon
__________________________________________
As a result of down-scaling our regatta ambitions from “Open” and “Official” to “Fun” and “Local only” we will celebrate the completed facelift of Bachman Lake with a regatta for all members plus our friends from the Fort Worth RC.
Continue to practice and prepare yourself to participate in Singles, Doubles and Quads.
The regatta will run over 1,000m distance in four lanes in an semi-official manner. Following the Club Competition is a High School regatta starting at 1:00 p.m. for local High Schools including St.Mark’s.

This regatta is an ideal opportunity for “first time competitors” in our great sport as well as a chance for competitive rowers to attract more club members to the thrill of competing against fellow oarsmen in Texas and nationally.

temporarily. This is a “family-regatta”.
Depending on volume of sign-ups, heats may be necessary, which will run in the
same sequence as the finals, prior to any final.
Time shortages may be overcome by rowing qualifying heats over 500m only. Boat
shortages may make it necessary to row for best time to determine a winner.
Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place. When races are combined
“due to lack of participation in certain age categories” each age group in that race
will be considered a separate race for medal purposes.
The results of all races by age groups, handicapped if necessary, will determine

Boat Selection
The selection process applies only to participants who are rowing and using club equipment. A category selection has been made on the Event Schedule. There are limitations in certain boat levels that may make it unavoidable to row for best time in a particular race.
Generally, owners of private boats are exclusively level 5 rowers. Shortages may occur in levels 3 and 4 events.
When signing up for the regatta please indicate what boat you want to row in. If another member requests the same boat the “Regatta Committee” reserves the right to make the appropriate determination for each crew.
Preliminary “Sign-up Sheets” and “Volunteer Lists” will be displayed at the boat house in due course.
